      About Us

      HOW & WHY.. This Passion, and Program Development Happened!

      My Mom would always tell me the story, of my Grandfathers 2 Dogs.  "SKY" & "ROY".  She would explain how both of them, (GSD's), would drag me under my Grandpas bed, and cuddle with me, when I was just a baby 2-year old. I was always mystified and in a "Happy Place" when she would explain how much those 2 dogs loved me.  Thats is when the mutual love and respect for dogs started for me. If and when I was pulled away from them, the two dogs would moan, and I would cry - she always said.  Maybe that's why I still believe in "Spirit Dogs".  From that age, and as I grew older - I was always drawn to dogs, and they were drawn to me.

      PURPOSE & PROCESS

      Dogs are AMAZING, and Dogs think we Humans are AMAZING too. So it makes sense that the CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION should reflect that!


      Here at KATA-K9, we take you "BOTH"  to a level of "Bi-Directional Awareness, Anticipation & Appreciation, using a "Framework", and "Workflow" that consists of a 20, or 40 day journey.

      I have 46-Years of Dog Ownership, Handling, Nurture & Training - Along with 11 Years of Horse Ownership, Handling and Groundwork.  You could say, I was "Raised" by them - Dogs taught me.. How to to teach them..

      Yes, I prefer to come to your home, if local and within reasonable driving distance. This way, your Fur-Baby has a familiar setting, and you can watch and experience everything we do.  I strongly believe that the best, and most fulfilling way to engage with  your Fur-Baby, is "Through" you - that means teaching you to teach the dog - its a "Together" thing..  results will be visible, measurable and more rewarding for both of you. 

      THE STORY - continued

      To make a long story, short. I have since owned, handled and trained dogs most of my life - I have owned Horses too, where I did my own Groundwork, and Handling. I take pride in knowing all my animals lived beyond their life expectancies, with "smiles" on their faces, and lasting memories, with loving experiences. I had always thought about formally putting together a fully developed "system", that would transcend everything we see and hear about today. The obstacle was usually corporate workloads and global travel.. still though, the Passion would always linger around in my heart and soul. Evertime I discovered a unique "sense" or breakthrough "translation".. I would make note of it - and Cultivate it. As a former Boyscout, my German Shepherds have always traveled, hiked and camped with me, and my daughter. Always "one of us" in every sense of the word. Recently, I discovered reminence of the Original Tuscarora Indigenous Tribe along my creek and acerage. I Then searched for, and found the Clans that still exist today. After spending much time with the Elders, they bestowed upon me some Sacred Cermonial Eagle Feathers - and it was then, that my "Spirit" and Passion, turned into "Action", and I finally decided to formally launch this program - to reconnect Humanity, with the original and instinctual "Awareness" of our "Best Friends" - Dogs!
